All of the elders are overseers. All of the overseers are pastors. The pastor is an overseer who is an elder!

The following thoughts are the result of someone asking if voting for a pastor was like casting lots. The answer to their question was, “Yes, if biblical principles are not followed.”

Here “children” refers to new Christians. They have just had their sins forgiven. The spiritual young man is one who is having victory over sin, is strong in the faith, and has a strong grasp of Scripture. Hebrews 5:11-14 helps us understand that a spiritually mature believer is one who knows the Bible so that he or she can teach others.
In Acts 26:16 the apostle Paul clearly understood that God wanted him to original site be an apostle. That is what every pastor must believe and sense, or he will be a failure.
The greatest and most common mistake is that they ignore the guidelines that God has given in the scriptures. When we ignore the Word of God, we are “throwing lots” or dice. What a church gets is the “luck of the dice.”
After about 20-30 minutes the sermon is over. A pastor who is committed to really teaching the Bible will explain what each verse is about and will explain what God is saying and provide an application. He will even explain the difficult passages. This may require about 45 minutes, since it is difficult to explain the passage in depth and provide great application in only 30 minutes.
Therefore, assuming the church elders/leaders have truthfully and accurately communicated the truth, it appears the pastor is disqualified and should not continue.
We miss the point that God rejected Moses because he hit the rock in Numbers 20 rather than speaking to the rock. Today, we think what was the big deal?
